Dave's Enneagram provides a rich introduction to the Enneagram through Dave's Enneagram Guide and the links to resources provided by various teacher interpretations of the system. However, the primary purpose of Dave's Enneagram is to find examples of type and instinct through songs, type interviews, famous people, movie characters, and other resources. I've found that learning and applying the Enneagram may start with descriptions of the types, instincts, and concepts of the system, but to truly understand it requires exploring the experience that these concepts are pointing to. In other words, bringing the types to life.

It seems a number of people new to the Enneagram personality types struggle with sorting through the many concepts associated with the system. Because I've been working with the system for over 20 years now and the concepts are so familiar to me, it's easy for me to forget how complicated the system can be for someone relatively new to it, especially once they go beyond the basic nine types.
