G.I. Gurdjieff

G.I. Gurdjeiff purportedly learned about the Enneagram from the Sarmoung Sufi Brotherhood (also written as Sarman, Sarmoun, Sarmouni). It was around 1916 that he began sharing it with his students. The first appearances of the popularized Enneagram symbol occur in his and his students teachings and writings. Gurdjieff used the Enneagram to understand processes. This use of the symbol I refer to as the Enneagram as Process.
