Barack? Barack is a 9w1, methinks

Submitted by Anonymous on Sat, 11/01/2008 - 22:33.

I see Barack Obama as a classic 9w1. The core element in his psychological makeup actually seems to be his grounding in marriage, family, and community. While in law school at Harvard, he sought out fellow student Michelle Robinson, and pegged her instantly for his perfect wife. I think as an American Black Woman, she represented to him the grounding in American Black Culture that he wanted, to feel complete as an African-American. (Remember, although Obama is of both African and American heritage, he is not of the same "African-American" slave-descended heritage that the vast majority of American Blacks are descended from.) Obama needed this grounding to feel part of something, to feel like a member of a family. Michelle's family was from Chicago, which led Barack to Chicago, to seek grounding in a community. I believe Barack Obama's presidential quest is also part of his personal sojourn, his goal of seeking grounding. His family -- wife and children -- are a huge part of this, and I think we can say that if it weren't for them and the grounding they've provided, he would never have advanced this far.

Barack's One-wing means that he is a crusader, even a moral crusader. But it doesn't overshadow his family life and the strong commitment he has to his wife and children. Look at how protective he was of his daughter, Sasha, on their trick-or-treating walk yesterday (Halloween).

Family is critically important for Obama, and I believe this indicates he is basically a Nine, with a crusader One wing.

A three not a nine...

Submitted by Anonymous on Tue, 11/04/2008 - 00:03.

There is no way Barack Obama is a 9. Nines look for comfort in all situations and are everybody's true best friend. Nines try to keep EVERYBODY happy, he has better boudaries than that. He also could not have withstood the rigors of the campaign trail for the last 2 years since they were anything but comfortable. Also, Michelle Obama has said they are both equal disciplinarians with their daughters and nines tend to be 'the best friend' kind of parent. I think he is a 3 with a 4 wing that sometimes swings to a 2 wing. He genuinely presents his best side and knew he was destined for greatness. He didn't feel he fit in in school but does not fully carry the special yet broken dilema of the 4. Nor does he over extend himself emotionally like a 2. I think he is an evolved 3.
